AI Disclaimer

Last updated: April 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully. It explains the inherent limitations of AI-powered scam detection and your responsibilities when using Vigru.

1. Nature of AI Analysis

Vigru uses artificial intelligence to analyze messages, emails, and links for potential scam indicators. Our AI models are trained to recognize patterns commonly associated with fraudulent communications.

However, AI technology has inherent limitations and may produce incorrect results. AI analysis is a tool to assist your judgment — it is not a replacement for critical thinking or professional advice.

2. No Guarantee of Accuracy

False Negatives

Vigru may fail to detect some scams. This is especially true for:

  • Novel scam techniques that our models have not been trained on
  • Highly sophisticated or targeted attacks (spear phishing)
  • Scams written in languages with less training data
  • Scams that use subtle psychological manipulation without obvious red flags

False Positives

Vigru may flag legitimate messages as suspicious. This can happen with:

  • Legitimate marketing or promotional emails
  • Messages with urgent but genuine requests
  • Messages from unfamiliar senders who are not scammers

Accuracy Factors

The accuracy of Vigru's analysis varies based on:

  • Message language — analysis may be more accurate for some languages than others
  • Scam type — some categories of scams are easier to detect than others
  • Scam sophistication — simple mass scams are generally easier to catch than targeted attacks
  • Message context — isolated text without full conversation context may affect accuracy

3. Not Professional Advice

Vigru's analysis does NOT constitute:

  • Legal advice — if you have been a victim of fraud, consult a legal professional
  • Financial advice — if you suspect financial fraud, contact your bank immediately
  • Security consulting — for comprehensive security assessments, engage professional security services

Vigru does NOT replace:

  • Law enforcement agencies
  • Bank fraud departments
  • Professional cybersecurity services
  • Government consumer protection agencies

4. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on Vigru's analysis.

  • Always exercise your own judgment, even when Vigru reports a message as “Safe.”
  • Do not rely exclusively on Vigru to protect you from scams.
  • When in doubt, contact the relevant authorities or professionals directly.
  • Verify the identity of senders through independent channels when dealing with financial or sensitive matters.

5. What To Do If You Suspect a Scam

If you believe you have encountered a scam, regardless of Vigru's verdict:

Immediate Steps

  • Do not engage further with the suspected scammer
  • Do not click links or download attachments from suspicious messages
  • Contact your bank immediately if you shared financial information
  • Change your passwords if you entered credentials on a suspicious site

Report To Authorities

  • United States: Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov
  • United Kingdom: Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk
  • Slovakia: Polícia SR — online fraud reporting
  • European Union: Your national consumer protection authority
  • Your local law enforcement

6. AI Improvement

We continuously work to improve the accuracy and capabilities of our AI models. However:

  • Current accuracy rates are not guaranteed for future performance — as scam techniques evolve, new threats may temporarily reduce detection accuracy.
  • Improvements in one area (e.g., phishing emails) do not guarantee improvements in others (e.g., SMS scams).
  • Scammers continuously adapt their techniques, creating an ongoing challenge for any detection system.

7. Liability

The limitations of liability regarding Vigru's AI analysis are set forth in our Terms of Service, Section 9 (Limitation of Liability). By using Vigru, you acknowledge that you have read and understood both this AI Disclaimer and the relevant sections of the Terms of Service.
